One Fatality Confirmed As Cholera Cases Rise in Nasarawa

29 suspected cases of cholera have been reported, according to the Nasarawa State Government, in the local government areas of Kokona and Nasarawa Eggon as of Monday.

Speaking at the start of a three-day workshop on reproductive, maternal, and child health being organised by Rotary International in the state’s Akwanga LGA, Gaza Gwamna, the Commissioner for Health, made this knowledge.

This was announced by Gaza Gwamna, the Commissioner of Health, during a speech at the start of a three-day workshop on reproductive, maternal, and child health that Rotary International was hosting in the state’s Akwanga Local Government Area.

He said, “We have 19 suspected cases of cholera in Kokona and 10 in Nasarawa Eggon. The person who passed away at Nasarawa Eggon had puked and had diarrhoea, but there was no proof that cholera was the cause of his death.

Gaza Gwamna thanked Rotary International for hosting the three-day course and asked the attendees to treat the training seriously in order to accurately report on the health issues impacting women and children in the state.
