Ohanaeze Ndigbo Election: Former IGP, Mike Okiro Prevented From Participating In The Just Concluded Presidential Elections.

Former Inspector-General of Police, Mike Okiro has been speaking on how a non-existent court order supposedly issued by an Enugu High Court prevented him from taking part in the just concluded Ohanaeze Ndigbo election.

He said the non-existent court order peddled in some sections of the media was what the Election Screening Committee relied on to bar him from screening and subsequent non-participation.

Mike Okiro an aspirant for the post of President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo while addressing journalists in Port Harcourt, explained that when his lawyer eventually obtained the Court proceedings after the election had been concluded, it was discovered that there was no court order barring him from the election as propagated.

He said Justice N.R Orji only granted a Leave to the Applicants to serve the Respondents, adding that he felt disappointed that the said Court Order he obeyed was a hoax.

The former IGP while calling on the Police to activate Section 125(A) of the Criminal Code Laws and deal with the Criminal issue of false information, charged the Nigeria Bar Association to discipline the lawyer for trading false information from a court aimed at misleading Nigerians and diminishing the credibility of the Judiciary.
