The Ogun State Police Command has issued a wanted notice for controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as “Portable,” over allegations of leading a violent assault on government officials performing their lawful duties.
According to a statement released on Monday by the command’s spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, the incident occurred on February 5, 2025, at around 10:00 a.m. when three officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Ota Zonal Office, were enforcing regulations at Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu Ota.
The officials identified as TPL Onabanjo Abidemi, TPL Raymond Lateef, and TPL Ridwan Oyero Akinlesi reportedly encountered Portable’s father at Odogwu Bar while inspecting a building.
Shortly after, Portable allegedly arrived at the scene armed with a firearm and other weapons, leading a group of nine thugs in a violent assault on the officials. The victims sustained various injuries but managed to escape and report the attack to authorities.
Odutola stated “Upon identifying themselves and requesting the approved building plan, the father informed them that his son was unavailable.
“However, moments later, Portable, armed with a firearm and other weapons, and led a gang of nine thugs in a violent attack on the unarmed officials.
“The enforcement officers sustained various bodily injuries but managed to escape and reported the incident to the Ota Area Command, which subsequently escalated the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further action.

While nine of the singer’s alleged accomplices have been arrested, Portable fled and has since gone into hiding. Police say multiple formal invitations were sent to him, but he ignored them without legal representation.
Following his continued evasion, the police obtained a court order declaring him wanted. Authorities are now urging the public to provide any information that could lead to his arrest, warning that anyone found aiding or harboring him will face legal consequences.
This development comes just weeks after nine of Portable’s associates were arraigned before a Magistrate Court in Abeokuta for allegedly assaulting officials of the Ota Zonal Planning Office. They were charged with offenses including felony, assault, and possession of weapons but pleaded not guilty.
The Ogun State Police Command has advised anyone with relevant information to report to the nearest police station or contact its official channels.
