A group of prominent politicians and technocrats from Northern Nigeria, has inaugurated League of Northern Democrats (LND), consisting of 226 members to fight bad governance.

He insisted that action is needed from federal, state, and local governments in response to the protests against poor governance.

Shekarau highlighted the urgent need for reforms in the education sector and improvements in security, while also criticizing the current practice where project decisions are made unilaterally by the executive and stressed the necessity of establishing a body to hold them accountable.

Members include former governors, federal lawmakers, and influential businessmen. Alongside Shekarau and Ardo, notable members include Alhaji Tanko Yakasai, Sen. Ibrahim Ida, Kabir Tafida, Falalu Bello, Dr. Jamilu Isyaka Gwamna, Malam Salihu Lukman, Amb.
