Nigerian Immigration Service Boosts Border Security Amid Lakurawa Sect Threat

The Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) in Sokoto State has pledged to enhance border security to combat threats from the emerging Lakurawa sect.

Mr. Yusuf Bage, the state Comptroller assured journalists on Monday that security agencies are prepared to counter this evolving challenge, as sect members often use illegal routes for entry.

”However, I want to assure the public that security agencies are ahead of them, and their activities will soon be curbed.” Bage stated.

He emphasized the NIS’s constitutional role in effective border management and highlighted expanded operations across all local government areas.

Bage also underscored the importance of media collaboration in these security efforts
