The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency reported that it had destroyed 10, 534.78 kg of marijuana, also known as cannabis, that had been grown on 4.213912 hectares of farmland in Edo state.
The property was reportedly situated at Uhen woodland in the Ovia North East Local Government Area of the state, according to information provided by NDLEA spokesperson Mr. Femi Babafemi on Sunday in Abuja.
According to the Agency’s spokesman, four individuals were taken into custody by the agency during a raid on the forests on Wednesday, June 12. He revealed the suspects’ names: Clifford Ossai, 49; Vanger Timothy, 30; John Oluwaseyi, 30; and Frank Ishoku, 38.
He also mentioned that 16 kg of processed cannabis had been found in order to support prosecution.
Babafemi continued saying, 18,425 kg of the same psychoactive material were destroyed by agency agents on 7.37 hectares of farmland.
