NANTMP Ekiti Chapter Inauguates New Executives

…As National Secretary urges Ekiti residents to Prioritize traditional medicine over modern ones

The National Association of Nigerian Traditional Medicine Practitioners (NANTMP) Ekiti State chapter today inaugurated new executives.

The National Secretary of National Association of Nigerian Traditional Medicine Practitioners (NANTMP), Alhaji Adeagbo Raji has called on the people of Ekiti state to prioritize the value of traditional medicine over its modern counterpart.

The National Secretary stated this on Wednesday in Ado-Ekiti at the inauguration ceremony of new Executives of the state chapter.

While stressing the importance of  traditional medicine, Alhaji Raji urged the residents to take advantage of their residual knowledge in the use traditional medicine to tackle illnesses.

According to him, “Ekiti state is a learned state, there is no community that has not produced a professor.

“They have original medicine. I am using this medium to tell Ekiti people to let the traditional medicine rise, to let them come out with the residual knowledge that God gave to them so that traditional medicine will be prioritized over modern medicine.”

Speaking with Newsmen at the event, the chairman of Ekiti state chapter, Chief Oluwafemi Adesua, popularly known as Ageje, pledged to impact the healthcare in the state through the traditional means and also unite practitioners across Ekiti.

Ageje emphasized on the effectiveness of traditional medicine, adding that efforts are being made to define and recognize all credible practitioners within the state.

While revealing his strategy to unit practitioners in the state, the Leader, NANTMP, Ekiti State, Dauda Lawal Awise, said “You know a leader is a slave, I wouldn’t mind whatever it will cost me, I will team up and go round the 16 Local Government, call them, advice them and tell them that we should team up; lets move Ekiti forward.”

He noted that traditional medicine practice has transformed into modern profession, while seeking state government’s support through the inauguration of a task force to rid the state of quacks.
