The founder of Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), Aare Afe Babalola has disclosed that the institution has sealed partnerships with more than 60 international universities.
The legal luminary stated this on Monday in Ado-Ekiti while playing host to the delegates of International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), led by its Deputy Director-General for Partnerships and Delivery, Kenton Dashiell.
The elder statesman praised IITA for visiting the institution, noting that their long-standing partnership has benefited the university in agriculture and other sectors.
Babalola also attributed the university’s beauty and structure to the influence of IITA, which he described as a “London in Nigeria.”
He noted that ABUAD has established partnerships with over 60 international universities across countries such as the US, Europe, the UK, Germany, South Africa, and others.
His words, “The beauty of ABUAD is as a result of what I saw in IITA, Ibadan. More than 60 International Universities have partnered with ABUAD.
“We have them from US, Europe, the UK, Germany, South Africa, and many more”.
In his remarks, IITA’s Deputy DG, Kenton Dashiell, commended the fruitful partnership between IITA and ABUAD, which began in 2012.
He assured that the organisation would continue to invest in the university to not only ranks among the top universities globally but the best in the world.
“We will do everything possible to make sure this partnership grow stronger.
“We will invest to see this University going more professional and make sure that ABUAD is ranked globally among Universities like Cambridge, Harvard, among others”.
