A leading healthcare facility in India, Marengo Asia Hospital has collaborated with Afe Babalola University Multisystem Hospital (AMSH) on kidney transplant surgery.
Addressing a press conference on Thursday in Ado-Ekiti, a visiting Urologist and Kidney Transplant Surgeon in Marengo Asia Hospital, Dr Rajeev Sood stated the partnership is germane in order to upscale the expertise of the Hospital to become more standard.
He stated that the Hospital will be more equipped with equipments from India in order to discourage medical tourism and make AMSH the face of other Hospitals in Africa.
Dr Sood explained that AMSH was selected for the partnership as a result of its 24-hour operations as against public health facilities.
He said, “I will like to commend Aare Afe Babalola for building this Hospital to cater for all sorts of ailments.
“ABUAD Multisystem Hospital is majorly selected for this partnership as a result of its 24-hour operation as against public hospitals that opens at 8,9am and closes by 4pm.
“More equipments will be brought from India down here and we will continue to partner with this Hospital”.
The Chief Medical Director of AMHS, Dr Kolawole Ogundipe stressed that the partnership will also enable the Hospital to provide endourology services, penile implant for erectile dysfunction and laparoscopic and advanced surgical procedures.
Dr Ogundipe added that the collaboration will equally strengthen AMSH by bringing advanced medical care and expertise closer to Nigerians.
“ABUAD Multi-System Hospital has been a centre of excellence in renal health, starting with our state-of-the-art Dialysis Center, which has grown from offering 10 dialysis sessions per month to now over 400 sessions monthly.
“This partnership will make this Hospital to be the representative of everything you are being looking for in India because the equipments used there for treatment will also be used there.
