LASU Demands Justice for Murdered Graduate, Adedamola Ogunbode

Lagos State University (LASU) has called for swift justice over the tragic death of Adedamola Ogunbode, a recent graduate allegedly murdered for ritual purposes.

In a statement on Tuesday, LASU’s Deputy Registrar and Coordinator of the Centre for Information and Public Relations, Oluwayemisi Thomas-Onashile, expressed deep sorrow over Ogunbode’s killing. The 28-year-old Political Science Education graduate, popularly known as Horlar, had been missing since January 16 before his mutilated body was reportedly found buried in a church compound in the Ojo area of Lagos.

Authorities have arrested the church’s prophet, who is currently assisting with investigations. LASU strongly condemned the act, urging security agencies to ensure those responsible are brought to justice.

The university extended condolences to Ogunbode’s family and urged students to remain calm while cooperating with law enforcement. It also emphasized the need for vigilance and safety within the university community.
