Just In: Argentina Defeat Colombia In Extra-Time To Claim Copa America Tittle

World champions Argentina defeated Colombia 1-0 at the Copa America final, recording a historic 16th continental title, thanks to an extra-time game winner from substitute Lautaro Martinez.

Argentine star Lionel Messi suffered an ankle injury, which forced his substitution in the 66th minute of the game. The Argentina captain appeared to be in tears as he walked off the pitch with a swollen ankle.

Colombia came close to breaking the deadlock in the second half as they looked the better team in the final third but their efforts were cut off by the Argentine shotstopper Emiliano Martinez.

The game looked destined for Penalties until Lautaro Martinez gave Argentina the lead in the 112th minute of extra time which proved decisive to hand Argentina a record 16th continental tittle.
