Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Saturday, gave out his sister, Ogheneochuko Oborevwori in marriage to Mr. Maurice Osirim at an impressive ceremony attended by the creme of the society that cuts across political and social strata in Nigeria.
The traditional marriage was earlier held at the Osubi country home of the Governor on Thursday while the wedding took place at Living Faith Church, Osubi in Okpe Local Government Area of the state.
Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba and Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa, Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, immediate past Governor of the State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, Senator Ned Nwoko, Chief Great Ogboru, attended the marriage ceremony.
Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor and Speaker Taraba State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. John Kizito Bonzino led principal officers and members of the Delta State House of Assembly, Secretary to the State Government, Dr Kingsley Emu, Commissioners led by their dean, Chief Fidelis Tilije, Senior Political Adviser, Senator Emmanuel Aguariavwodo, Special Advisers and top government functionaries, Former South South President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, Archbishop Goddowell Awhomakpa, Pastor David Popoola and other ministers of God graced the occasion.
Chairman of Delta State Advisory Council and former Minister of Information, Prof. Sam Oyovbaire, Chairman Delta PDP, Dr Kingsley Esiso, Senator James Manager, Senator Ighoyota Amori, Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, Hon. Nicholas Mutu, Hon. Victor Nwokolo and Hon. Ngozi Okolie, Chief Victor Egukawhore, UTME Gas MD, Mr Julius Rone, Traditional rulers led by the First Vice Chairman, Delta State Council of Traditional Rulers, Pere Luke Kalanama VIII, among others attended the wedding ceremony.
Earlier in his sermon tittled “ideal marriage”, Resident Pastor of Living Faith Church, Osubi, Pastor Isaiah Salawu, said marriage institution as ordained by God is a covenant and not a comedy, adding that the couple should always love each other in building their home.
The cleric who likened an ideal marriage to that of a dove, implored the newly wed to exhibit exceptional love by caring and being out there for each other.
While congratulating them on their successful marriage, he urged them to learn to eat and pray together, pointing out that they should be devoted to the service of God and allow unity of purpose to reign supreme in their marriage.
At the reception held at the KFT Events Centre, Effurun, Chairman of the occasion and Governor of Taraba State, Kefas Agbu, congratulated the couple on their successful marriage and urged them to love one another to ensure longevity of their union.
In his remarks at the wedding reception, Governor Oborevwori who was highly elated with joy over the successful ceremony, expressed appreciation to everybody that graced the occasion for their show of love to the Oborevwori’s family.
“I want to appreciate all of you for the love that you have shown to the Oborevwori’s family by joining us to celebrate the couple who were joined today in holy matrimony a few hours ago
“The love that you have shown us will not be in vain; there will be a time for us to pay back,” the governor said gleefully.
