Facebook Opens Up Earning Features For Nigerian And Ghanaian Creators

According to a recent announcement from Meta, content creators in Nigeria and Ghana who have 5,000 or more followers on Facebook will begin to get payment on July 1, 2024.

Facebook In-Stream Ads and Facebook Ads on Reels are the two new revenue-generating tools that the business unveiled on Monday.

Meta released a statement stating that these capabilities will enable creators to generate income by creating unique videos and growing their networks.
Creators who meet the eligibility requirements in both nations can monetize their reel and video material, with support offered in more than 30 languages worldwide.

“Creators must pass and remain compliant with Facebook’s partnership monetisation policies and content monetization policies, and they must be at least 18 years old,” the announcement stated. “They may use either product.”

“Everyday, we’re inspired by the incredible African creators who use Facebook to tell their stories, connect with others, and bring people together,” said Moon Baz, Global Partnerships Lead at Meta, in response to the launch.

“This expansion will empower eligible creators in the vibrant creative industry across Nigeria and Ghana to earn money, whilst setting the bar high for creativity across the world and making Meta’s family of apps the one-stop-shop for all creators.

“Whether it is pre-recorded content or when publishing a recording of a previous live stream, in-stream advertisements can play before, during, or after on-demand videos.”

Pre-roll advertising, which play before a video begins, Mid-roll commercials, which play during videos, Image ads, which are static image ads that display beneath the content, and Post-roll ads, which play at the conclusion of films, are some examples of In-stream Ad types.

“Facebook Reels seamlessly integrate ads into original Reels, allowing creators to entertain fans and get paid based on the performance of their original reels,” noted Baz.
