The Ekiti State Police Command has arrested a man, Jimoh Abdulraman, for allegedly assaulting his wife, Mrs. Akintunde Bidemi Taiwo, at Nova Area, Ado-Ekiti.
According to a statement released by the command’s spokesperson, SP Abutu Sunday, the arrest followed a directive from the Commissioner of Police, CP Joseph Eribo, after a viral video of the victim surfaced online.
Acting on a tip-off, operatives from the Oke-Ila Division swiftly identified and apprehended the suspect.
The case has since been transferred to the Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Unit of the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for a thorough investigation and subsequent arraignment.
