Delta Air Lines Plane Crash-Lands at Toronto Airport, Flips Upside Down, Leaves Eight Injured

A Delta Air Lines passenger jet crash-landed at Toronto Pearson International Airport on Monday, flipping upside down and injuring at least eight people, according to local media reports.

Endeavor Flight 4819 was arriving from Minneapolis, Minnesota, when it crashed upon landing, the airline confirmed. Public broadcaster CBC reported that among the injured, three were in critical condition, including a child. All were transported to the hospital.

Images from the scene showed passengers stumbling away from the overturned aircraft, shielding their faces from strong winds.

“Toronto Pearson is aware of an incident upon landing involving a Delta Air Lines plane arriving from Minneapolis. Emergency teams are responding. All passengers and crew are accounted for,” the airport posted on X (formerly Twitter).

A passenger, John Nelson, shared a video of the wreckage on Facebook, writing, “Our plane crashed. It’s upside down,” while noting that most people appeared to be safe.

Delta Airlines acknowledged the incident, stating that it was investigating and would provide updates as more information became available.

Federal Transport Minister Anita Anand confirmed that 80 passengers were on board.

The crash occurred as Toronto continued to experience harsh winter conditions following a massive snowstorm that swept through eastern Canada on Sunday, bringing strong winds and frigid temperatures.
