CROSS RIVER STATE GOV’T PARTNERS UNICEF, NIEPA TO BOOST EDUCATIONAL SECTOR


The Cross River State Government is patnering with the National  Institute for Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA), and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in the development of Education Sector Plans for the State.

Addressing newsmen in Calabar,  the Cross River State Capital, South South Nigeria, the State Government  explained that it was done to ensure Cross River State records zero out of School Children across its eighteen  local government areas, and to give the internally displaced persons, residents in the state quality education.

The Director planning, research and statistics , ministry of education, cross river state said the Programme is to ensure that every Child has the right to quality education, hence,its partnership with the National Institute for Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA), and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

According  to the Representative of the Acting Director-General/Chief Executive of the National Institute for Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA), Dr lara Ogunsola who explained that the Education Sector Plans is currently ongoing across the eight (8) focal states with the scooping and review of existing sector plan documents covering Education Sector Performance Assessment Tools (ESPAT), State Education Strategic Plan (SESP), State Education Sector Operational Plan (SESOP) and Local Education Sector Operational Plan (LESOP).

The eight states are;

Bauchi,Borno,Yobe, Zamfara, Kebi, Crossriver, Gombe, and Katsina.
