Chosen Church Dismisses Viral Testimony Controversy, Calls for Caution on Social Media

The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries has responded to online ridicule over a recent testimony, stressing that the church does not fabricate such testimony.

Pastor Chidi Louis, Head of Public Relations and Media, addressed the allegations circulating online about a church member’s testimony. He clarified that the viral video, which allegedly shows a member claiming to have disarmed four armed robbers and taken possession of an “AK-27,” was falsified.

“Nigerians should disregard the fake video and visit our church platform to listen to the complete testimony for better understanding. The woman’s story occurred in a dream, not in reality.” He stated

“Don’t believe everything you see on the internet. Bloggers often edit content to ridicule the work of God. Most of these bloggers are wicked and devilish.”

The church’s media department also condemned the viral clip as fake on its platform, urging the public to disregard it. The full version of the woman’s testimony was later shared on the church’s TikTok account, clarifying that her story was about a dream.

The controversy originated from a viral video in which the woman testified about defeating four armed robbers and seizing a pistol, mistakenly referring to it as an “AK-27.” A pastor in the video corrected her, stating it was an “AK-47.”
