The Association of Master Bakers and Caterers of Nigeria (AMBCN) have announced that its members will be embarking on a Nationwide Strike from the 27th of February over the hike in prices for production
The Chairman of AMBCN Kogi state, Chief Adeniyi Bamidele Gabriel made the announcement on Tuesday that the strike notice was conveyed by the National President of the Association Alhaji Mansur Umar.
Chief Adeniyi said the strike decision became necessary as members of their Association are folding up businesses as a result of the rise in baking materials such as Sugar, flour, Vegetable oil and also the subsidy removal on petrol and also multiple taxations by federal government agencies across board.
The Association have called out agencies like NAFDAC, SON, NESREA, Consumer Protection Council, Department of Weight and Measures over instituting multiple taxation burdens on their members.
AMBCN have also accused state and local governments of instituting fees and levies such as “emblems, assessment levies, touting etc, stating that this has created a harsh business environment for its members to operate.
