Pan Yoruba socio-cultural organization, Afenifere, has relieved Pa Ayo Onabanjo as the Acting Leader of the group.
The group pulled the rug from under the feet of Pa Adebanjo, who was on March 17, 2021 appointed acting leader by the leader of the group, Pa. Reuben Fasoranti, at its frist general meeting in the New Year held at the residence of the Pa Fasoranti in Akure, Ondo State on Wednesday.
Reading the resolutions of the organisation at the meeting held at the resident of national Leader,Pa Reuben Fasoranti, the National Publicity Secretary of the organisation, Jare Ajayi said the decision is based on the pressing need to reposition and rejuvenate Afenifere.
He said Afenifere decided that the position of Acting Leader and Deputy Leader have now been abrogated.
Ajayi said with the abrogation of the positions of acting leader and deputy leader, Pa. Ayo Adebanjo ceased to be the acting leader of the organisation.
The Position Follows a motion moved by Samuel Ibikunle from Ogun State on the need to abrogate the dual positions of Acting Leader and Deputy Leader, and seconded by members from Ekiti, Kwara, Oyo and Ondo states.
