The Nigerian High Commission in South Africa have issued security advisories to Nigerians in South Africa ahead of the 2023 African Cup of Nations Semi final showdown between the two countries
The High Commission in a statement on Monday, February 5 2024 observe the inflammatory comments and veiled threats against Nigerians by a section of South Africans.
The High Commission advised Nigerians to be mindful of their utterances, where they choose to watch the match and to refrain from engaging in “loud, riotous or provocative” celebrations should Nigeria win the match come Wednesday.
The Nigerian High Commission also adviced Nigerians to report to the appropriate authorities should any issue arise instead of reciprocating the act.
