The Ondo State Police Command has arrested three suspects linked to the recent attack on members of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) in Ogbese, Akure North Local Government Area.
The attack occurred on Sunday, February 23, as NANS members traveled to Abuja for their annual convention.
Police spokesperson CSP Funmilayo Odunlami confirmed the arrests in a statement on Tuesday, stating that the command acted swiftly after receiving a distress call from one of the victims.

“Intelligence gathered revealed that this was not the first time NANS members had been targeted in the area. A special squad was deployed, leading to the arrest of three suspects,” she said.
Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Wilfred Afolabi, has assured NANS of a thorough investigation to bring all perpetrators to justice.
The suspects are currently undergoing interrogation and will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigations.
Meanwhile, NANS Zonal Coordinator (South-West), Comrade Owolewa Taiwo, commended the police for their prompt response and pledged the association’s support in tackling crime in the state.
