A woman identified as Madam Stella, drowned her six-year-old daughter, Rachael, in a river in Bayelsa State.
The incident happened in Ukubie community, Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of the state.
According to eyewitnesses, Rachael had been warned not to go to the waterfront but she eventually did which led her mother out of anger to throw her into the river leading to the child’s death
When confronted by community members, Stella confessed and asked for forgiveness
“I regret my actions. I never knew it would happen this way,” she said.
In a viral videos circulating on social media Stella, surrounded by a crowd as she explained what led to the act.
