Four Persons have been killed in Gbalegi, a community engulfed in land dispute between Akure and Idanre Communities.
The violence was said to have erupted around 8:0 clock on Friday morning, leading to the hamlet being deserted by the residents.
The Spokesperson of Ondo State Police Command, CSP Funmilayo Odunlami confirmed the Incident in a Statement issued and made availabile to Journalists in Akure, the state capital.
She disclosed that immediately after the Incident was reported, a detachment of Policemen were deployed to the scene and seven suspects were arrested.
According to her, some charms, seven single barrel guns, with a cache of live ammunitions and expended ones were recovered from the suspects.
The Police PRO informed that after combing the nearby bush, the police discovered four corpse, with bullet wounds.
“The CP calls for caution in handling cases related to boundary issues and urge communities involved in land dispute to approach the law court for proper redress rather than resorting to self help or Violence.”
