Osun Workers  Await Formal Agreement on N75,000 Minimum Wage

The chairman of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) in Osun State, Mr. Abimbola Fasasi, announced that a formal agreement to implement the newly approved minimum wage of N75,000 has not yet been signed.

Governor Ademola Adeleke approved this wage for state workers, but Fasasi indicated that the negotiation committee is working to finalize the agreement before the December 1 deadline set by the national labor movement.

He noted that discussions are progressing towards addressing necessary adjustments in the wage structure

“It is when we achieve that, that we are going to sign a formal agreement detailing everything, i.e. the implementation day and all that. All these are expected to be done between Monday and Tuesday, all things being equal,” he said.

In response to the looming December 1 deadline for the implementation of the new minimum wage, Fasasi  assured that workers in the state will comply with any directive issued by the national labor movement.

“We are part of the congress and whatever the national leadership directs, that, we are duty-bound to comply with.

“However, I am confident we won’t be caught in that web. As it is now, it is certain we will be done with every necessary action before that deadline.

We are very much good to make it happen before December 1st, by God’s grace. And the table is what every worker in the state would be proud of.”
