… distibutes 5000 fertilizers to farmers in Ekiti
The Senate Leader, Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, has refuted claims suggesting he is against Yoruba interests.
He made the clarification while distributing 5000 bags of fertilizers to farmers and various Farmers Association in Ekiti central senatorial district.
He also stated that there was no bill before the Senate, nor any memorandum to debate regarding regionalism, hence tagging the statement of working against southwest as false and baseless.
Senator Opeyemi Bamidele praised his Excellency for his unwaivering support towards the distribution of fertilizers to farmers and various farmers association in Ekiti.
According to him the reason for this development was basically to assist the registered farmers in Ekiti state.
“The President said we should also join in investing in Agriculture. Fertilizer distribution is aimed at assisting our farmers, it is not something for political parties.
Today by the grace of God we have 5000 bags of fertilizer to distribute in Ekiti central senatorial district.
What we are doing here is to make sure we distribute based on the list given to us by the state govt and the list provided by the association”.
On behalf of the president let me reassure you, government understand the situation of the nation.
“I want to say that the entire 5000 bags of Fertilizers is being shared to you all not in my name but in the name of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.” He added.
He also urged them not to sell the fertilizers given to them.
The farmers thanked President Tinubu for his input to the Agricultural sector of Ekiti state.
