Yahaya Reaffirms Gombe’s Commitment to Renewed Hope Agenda at NEC Summit

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, on Monday joined President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, governors, ministers, lawmakers, development partners and private sector leaders at the two-day National Economic Council (NEC) Conference in Abuja.

The conference, held at the Presidential Villa, is themed “Delivering Inclusive Growth and Sustainable National Development: The Renewed Hope National Development Plan 2026–2030.” It aims to strengthen policy coordination, peer learning and collaboration between federal and state governments.

In his opening remarks, Tinubu said the conference underscored a collective commitment to economic stabilisation, deeper fiscal federalism and measurable development outcomes. He highlighted ongoing reforms, increased revenue to subnational governments, infrastructure expansion and targeted social investments as core pillars of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Speaking on the sidelines, Yahaya reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to policies that drive economic growth, inclusion and improved living standards in Gombe State. He said the state continues to prioritise investments in agriculture, livestock development, infrastructure, industrialisation, education, healthcare and human capital development.

According to the governor, Gombe has emerged as a regional hub for agricultural and livestock transformation through deliberate reforms, large-scale investments and strategic partnerships, yielding gains in food security, job creation and economic diversification.

Yahaya stressed that subnational governments are central to translating national development plans into grassroots impact, adding that Gombe remains aligned with national priorities while leveraging its comparative advantages.

“The outcomes of this conference will help move us from policy to action. In Gombe, we are expanding economic opportunities, empowering youths and women, and building resilient infrastructure for sustainable growth,” he said.
