JTF Nets 14 Boats Full of Stolen Crude in Delta Operation

Operation Delta Safe, the Niger Delta Joint Task Force, asserts to have destroyed multiple illegal refining installations in Abia State.

Rear Admiral John Okeke, the JTF Commander, revealed the information in a statement given to reporters in Yenagoa on Sunday.

According to Okeke, the task team also stopped 14 boats carrying crude oil in the Komkom River, Obuzor, and Okoloma in Abia.

According to him, the action was executed by the task force’s air component based on trustworthy information received from the general public.

According to the commander, the mission was designed and carried out to stop illicit activity in the areas around the Komkom, Obuzor, and Okoloma rivers.

“The task force visited some communities in the region to caution them to desist from all illegal crude oil activities capable of destroying the nation’s economy.

“This move is in line with the anti-crude oil theft and illegal oil bunkering posture of the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa,” he said.

The action, according to him, was intended to make it very evident that the Niger Delta Region will not accept economic sabotage or oil theft.

In order to help the task force find oil thieves and vandals, Okeke pleaded with the public to constantly supply them with trustworthy information.
