Kaduna Judge Freed, Bandits Demand N150m to Release Children

Janet Galadima, the kidnapped judge of the Kaduna State Customary Court, has returned to her family, but her three children are still being held captive by the abductors, who killed Victor, the 14-year-old eldest.

On Thursday, the judge’s spouse, Musa Gimba, a physician, verified his wife’s release. However, he stated that the abductors are requesting N150 million in exchange for the freedom of their three children.

The criminals broke into the judge’s house on Sunday night while her husband, a physician, was away on duty, according to Gloria Ballason, Chief Executive Officer of the House of Justice.

“On Tuesday, July 2, 2024, the terrorists shot dead the 14-year-old first son of the judge when the ransom demanded could not be obtained,” Ballason said.

On Thursday, the husband claimed that the bandits were threatening to kill their three surviving children if they didn’t pay the N150 million that was requested.
Victor, the couple’s eldest son, was killed, according to Kaduna State Police Command spokesman Mansir Hassan.

According to him, agents discovered Victor’s body on Tuesday near the Kaduna-Abuja Motorway tollgate in Ungwan Bayero, Duste village.

In order to save the victims and apprehend the terrorists, he claimed that the police and security services were working nonstop.
