Terrorists Abduct Students, Teachers in Midnight Raid in Niger School

A midnight assault shattered the calm in Papiri, Agwara LGA of Niger State on Friday as terrorists stormed St. Mary’s Papiri Private Catholic Secondary School, abducting an undetermined number of students and teachers. The attackers swept through the school between 2:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. in what community members described as a coordinated operation.

Local officials, including Ahmed Abdullahi Rofia and council chairman’s aide Bello Gidi, confirmed the incident. Gidi said reports suggest “over 100” students and teachers may have been taken, though residents estimate “more than a dozen,” leaving the exact figure unclear. Security agencies have not issued a formal statement, and the police spokesperson said verification is ongoing.

The attack comes five days after terrorists raided Maga Comprehensive Girls’ Secondary School in Kebbi State, abducting about 25 students and killing a staff member in another early-morning onslaught.
