EkitiFest ’24: Commissioner solicits for partnership from private sectors

…assures tourists of maximum security

The Ekiti State Ministry for Arts, Culture and Creative Economy while announcing the date for the Ekiti state festival has solicited for Paternership from private sectors.

According to the commissioner, the Governor of Ekiti state, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji has approved the commencement of the Ekiti Fest for the year 2024.

This was disclosed by Professor Rasaki Ojo Bakare, the Commissioner of the ministry at a press conference held in Ado Ekiti on Friday.

“According to him, the forthcoming Ekiti festival which is scheduled to hold between 6th of August till 10th of August 2024 will need all the support it needs from private sectors players.

“We are  making efforts to approach private sector players to support the festival. The future of this festival in Ekiti is actually in the hands of the private sector, so are trying to get some private sectors players into the festival so that we can begin to build a working relationship with them now so that In four, five years time the private sector can solely power this events and government will just provide the enabling environment. That is what happens in civilized countries.”

In the areas of secutity the commissioner also assured adequate security for every individual coming before, during and after the festival.

“We are working to make sure we do not have any breach of security before during and after the festival, we are working with all the security agents to make sure that there is no breach of security”.

EkitiFest According to the commissioner;

“Ekitifest started because of the need to create the platform for the local Gov’t to bring whatever they have from their environment to the center for purposes of exposure, exhibition,marketing, development and all that the world can help them to do with this products, prouducts of their culture and talents.

We are inviting visitors from all over Africa and beyond, they are not just coming here to spend their money, they are to see what our people are capable of producing with their talents so that they can invest in these products, take them beyond the borders of Ekiti state and subsequently beyond the country.

For this year, we have several events, Fashion, traditional wrestling, Visual arts competitive event, street carnivals amongst others.”

He also appealed to Newsmen to work with the ministry in a bid to make the forthcoming festival a success.
