President Bola Tinubu has restated his government’s strong commitment to defeating terrorism and deepening Nigeria’s partnerships with global allies.
Speaking before the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Thursday at the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja—the first since July—the President said his administration remains focused on peace, security, and economic growth.
“We are engaging the world diplomatically, and we assure all of you that we will defeat terrorism,” Tinubu declared. “Our task is to move forward with clarity of purpose, guided by the Renewed Hope Agenda, to build a prosperous Nigeria.”
His remarks follow U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent decision to list Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern,” a move the Nigerian government has dismissed as a misrepresentation of its security situation.
Responding publicly for the first time, Tinubu said his administration continues to work with international partners to promote stability and development.
“Despite political headwinds, we will keep engaging with our partners. The success of the $2.3 billion Eurobond, which was oversubscribed, shows confidence in our economy,” he said.
The President also assured citizens that Nigeria remains united and focused on lasting peace and prosperity. He commended his cabinet for their dedication to the Renewed Hope Agenda and urged them to remain united and focused on delivering results.
