50 foreigners have been reportedly stranded in Lagos after falling victim of a job scam.
Reports reaching Gmart newsmen stated that the lagos state police command have rescued about 50 foreigners from neighboring African countries like Gabon and Cameroon who were allegedly scammed of their money and valuables for job search in Nigeria.
According to the police investigation, they were deceived by the ring leader of a Cameroonian job scam gang that they would be given job opportunities on their arrival to Nigeria.
The victims paid unspecified amounts of money to the fraudsters hoping to secure jobs in Nigeria
Some of the foreigners reportedly sold their properties including houses, cars, lands and other valuables to fund their journey to Nigeria
On arrival they were reportedly kept in a duplex house and given a stern warning not to step out until the jobs were provided. It is discovered that some of these foreigners have been in the duplex for over 6 months

“The ring leader is on the run. He gave all of them the same arrival date and when they arrived, he collected their money and asked them to stay in the duplex and left with the promise to come back, only to abandon them and go back to Cameroon”
