EKSCOTECH Denies Links With Ex-Lecturer Sentenced to Death

The management of Ekiti State College of Technology (EKSCOTECH), Ijero-Ekiti, has distanced itself from Shittu Isiaka, a former lecturer recently sentenced to death by hanging by an Ondo State High Court.

In a statement issued by the institution’s Registrar, Sunday Ayodeji, the college clarified that Isiaka is no longer a staff member of the institution.

Ayodeji said Isiaka’s appointment was terminated on April 10, 2019, due to abscondment and negligence of duty.

According to the statement, the management’s attention was drawn to reports circulating on social media following the January 29, 2026 judgment, which described Isiaka as a staff member of the college.

The institution stressed that the claim is inaccurate and urged the public to disregard any report portraying the convict as a current employee.

EKSCOTECH added that it remains committed to maintaining a safe and law-abiding academic environment for staff and students.
