The Ekiti State Government has warned individuals, organisations and political groups against pasting posters on public infrastructure, particularly the Okeyinmi–Ejigbo Phase II Flyover currently under construction in Ado Ekiti.
The State Commissioner for Works, Sola Adebayo, said the government would sanction anyone found defacing public facilities, stressing that such actions could damage the structure and diminish the aesthetic value of the project.
In a statement issued on Sunday in Ado Ekiti, Adebayo described the practice as unacceptable, noting that posters of political parties and candidates had begun to appear across the state following the lifting of the ban on campaigns ahead of the June 20 governorship election.

He warned that anyone caught pasting posters or engaging in activities capable of defacing the flyover would face sanctions.
The commissioner urged residents, corporate organisations and political groups to support government efforts to preserve public infrastructure and maintain order around the construction site.
He also appealed to members of the public to comply with the road diversion arrangements put in place around the construction area to ensure safety and ease traffic flow.
The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Works, Olukayode Ibijola, reiterated that pasting posters on the flyover structure was strictly prohibited, describing the project as a major infrastructure initiative aimed at improving traffic movement and enhancing the beauty of the state capital.
He called on residents and political groups to respect the directive and help preserve the facility for the benefit of all road users.
