President Donald Trump on Sunday claimed that 48 senior Iranian figures had been killed in joint US-Israeli bombardments, describing the unfolding military offensive as “very positive” and progressing ahead of schedule.
Speaking in separate interviews with Fox News and CNBC, Trump said the strikes — launched Saturday with the stated aim of dismantling Iran’s leadership and military capacity — had delivered significant results.
“Nobody can believe the success we’re having; 48 leaders are gone in one shot,” he was quoted as saying, adding that the campaign was advancing rapidly and benefiting global security.
Iran has confirmed the death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, marking a dramatic escalation in the conflict.

However, the US military also announced its first casualties in the war. United States Central Command said three American service members were killed, five seriously wounded and several others injured.
CENTCOM further disclosed that US forces had sunk an Iranian warship docked in the Gulf of Oman.
The situation remains fluid as hostilities intensify.
