Kebbi Govt Promises Stronger Security After Border Attacks

The Kebbi State Government has pledged enhanced protection for communities in Arewa Local Government Area following deadly bandit attacks along the Nigeria–Niger border.

Deputy Governor Abubakar Umar Tafida, representing Governor Nasir Idris, gave the assurance during condolence visits to affected villages, saying the state is working with the Federal Government and security agencies to strengthen operations and prevent further incursions.

He urged residents to provide credible intelligence and announced financial support for bereaved families and injured victims.

Villagers in Mamuni, where most casualties occurred, commended soldiers for swiftly engaging the attackers and forcing them to retreat.
