Gunmen Hack Ondo Monarch to Death After Kidnap Bid Fails

Gunmen have hacked the Alagamo of Agamo community in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State, Oba Kehinde Falodun, to death after an attempted abduction at his palace.

Family sources said about 10 armed men stormed the monarch’s residence on Wednesday evening with plans to kidnap him. The attempt, however, met resistance from the traditional ruler.

The attackers reportedly opened fire multiple times, but the bullets failed to penetrate his body. Frustrated, the assailants allegedly struck the monarch on the head with another weapon, leading to his death.

His wife confirmed the attack, stating that the gunmen were speaking Hausa and reportedly came through the Itaogbolu axis.

Further details are expected as authorities investigate the incident.
