The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Ekiti State is calling on residents who have attained the age of eighteen to take advantage of the Continuous Voter Registration exercise beginning Monday, February 16 through February 25, 2026.
The State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Bunmi Omosehindemi, made the appeal while speaking with journalists in Ado Ekiti, stressing the importance of ensuring that all eligible citizens are captured in the voters’ register.
Dr. Omosehindemi explained that the Commission has concluded arrangements to decentralise the exercise by taking registration to the various wards across the state, making it easier and more accessible for prospective voters.
According to him, the goal is to bring the Continuous Voter Registration closer to the grassroots so that no eligible voter is disenfranchised ahead of future elections.

He further disclosed that the exercise will last for ten days, after which the Commission will open a window to entertain complaints and objections, as well as collate and clean up the voters’ register.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner also noted that the online pre-registration portal has been closed, urging those who started the process online to complete their physical registration at designated centres within the stipulated period.
Dr. Omosehindemi therefore called on community leaders, political stakeholders, civil society groups and the media in Ekiti State to partner with INEC to ensure a smooth, transparent and successful exercise across all wards in the state.
