The announcement was made by NUJ Chairman, Comrade Kayode Babatuyi, during the formal presentation of a notification letter to Chief Fasae. The initiative, approved by NUJ National President Alhaji Alhassan Yahaya, will be titled “Chief Biodun Akin Fasae Annual Lecture” and feature a keynote address, panel discussion, and audience engagement.

The first edition is scheduled for March 26, 2026, at Sanni Abacha Hall, Old Governor’s Office, Ado Ekiti, with Hon. Akintunde Rotimi, lawmaker representing Oye/Ikole, delivering the lecture.

Babatuyi said the event aims to celebrate Chief Fasae’s legacy, promote ethical journalism, strengthen public communication, and inspire media practitioners in Ekiti and beyond.
