The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State has registered over 277,000 new members in its ongoing electronic registration exercise, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has disclosed.
The governor made this known on Monday while receiving the APC National Vice Chairman (North Central), Alhaji Muazu Bawa, during a monitoring visit to Ilorin.
AbdulRazaq said Kwara currently leads all states in the North Central zone, describing the turnout as a reflection of public confidence in the APC-led governments at both the state and federal levels.
“With over 277,000 people already registered, we are not resting on our oars despite some network challenges,” the governor said, attributing the surge to good governance and President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms.
He commended the party’s national and state leaderships, noting that the NIN-based e-registration would strengthen internal democracy and credibility, while calling for an extension of the registration window to accommodate more members.
Bawa, in his remarks, described Kwara’s performance as unprecedented, saying the state currently tops the registration chart in the zone.
“So far, Kwara is leading. What I have seen here is impressive and reflects the quality of leadership in the state,” he said.
The APC e-registration exercise is aimed at updating the party’s membership database and strengthening its internal democratic processes ahead of future elections.
