Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), on Wednesday matriculated 2,764 students into its various academic programmes, with the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Smaranda Olarinde, warning the fresh intakes against social vices.
The students were admitted into colleges including Engineering, Law, Medicine and Health Sciences, Pharmacy, Sciences, and Social and Management Sciences during the institution’s 17th matriculation ceremony.
Prof. Olarinde disclosed that 2,096 students were admitted into regular programmes, 207 into Open and Distance Learning, while 461 enrolled in part-time programmes.
She cautioned that the freedom associated with university life must be exercised with discipline, urging students to avoid antisocial behaviours capable of derailing their academic and personal goals.
The Vice-Chancellor reminded the matriculants that ABUAD was founded on the principles of labour, service and integrity, noting that the university had produced 14,825 graduates between 2013 and 2025.
