Osun election: NANS Southwest backs APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Southwest Zone D, has endorsed Bola Oyebamiji, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the forthcoming off-cycle election in Osun State.

Speaking in Osogbo on Monday, the zone’s coordinator, Owolewa Taiwo, said the endorsement was based on Oyebamiji’s strong educational background and track record in public service, which he described as critical for effective governance.

Taiwo said the student body was confident that Oyebamiji would attract competent professionals into government and run an administration free from the influence of cronies and sycophants.

To support the endorsement, NANS announced the launch of a youth and students’ mobilisation movement, citing Oyebamiji’s commitment to education, youth development and student engagement.

The association also praised President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, highlighting initiatives such as the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, the Compressed Natural Gas programme, and the 3 Million Technical Talent scheme, which it said demonstrate strong support for students and young people.
