Nigeria’s Super Eagles carved their path into the semi-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations with a commanding 2–0 victory over Algeria at the Grand Stade de Marrakech on Saturday.

Algeria, who had conceded just once all tournament, finally buckled under Nigeria’s relentless tempo and sharp second-half execution. After a dominant but goalless opening half, the breakthrough came moments after the restart.

Victor Osimhen rose above the defence in the 47th minute, powering home a header from Bruno Onyemaechi’s precise delivery. Ten minutes later, Akor Adams sealed the night with a calm, clinical finish.

The win sets up a blockbuster semi-final clash against tournament hosts Morocco. With confidence surging and their attack in full flow, the Super Eagles now stand on the edge of history, chasing a fourth continental crown.
