Adedamola Clinches PDP Ticket for Osun 2026 Governorship Race

Adebayo Adedamola has secured the Peoples Democratic Party’s governorship ticket for the 2026 Osun election, rising from the party’s internal ballot like a name carried on a quiet political wind.

He earned 919 of the 957 valid votes cast during Tuesday’s primary in Osogbo, sealing an almost uncontested ascent after one aspirant bowed out of the race.

Announcing the outcome, primary chairman Humphrey Abba confirmed that 20 ballots were voided and that Adedamola, having claimed all remaining valid votes, “stands elected and returned.”

The development follows closely on the heels of Gmart News’ earlier report on Senator Ademola Adeleke’s resignation from the party, a shift that has reshaped the PDP’s internal landscape ahead of 2026.
