The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, has urged Corps Members to uphold the core values of the scheme throughout their service year and beyond. He made the appeal while addressing the 2025 Batch ‘C’ Corps Members currently undergoing Orientation Course in Rivers State.
In a message shared on the NYSC’s X handle on Tuesday, Nafiu emphasized the need for patriotism, integrity, efficiency, transparency, and commitment, noting that these virtues should guide their conduct both during and after their service. He reminded them that their actions reflect not only on the scheme but also on the nation.
Commending the Corps Members for answering the call to serve, the NYSC DG encouraged them to make meaningful contributions to national development. He reiterated that their dedication during the service year could play a significant role in shaping Nigeria’s future.
Earlier, the Rivers State NYSC Coordinator, Mr. Moses Oleghe, presented the camp situation report, revealing that the 2,586 Corps Members in camp had demonstrated discipline, patriotism, and strong commitment. Nafiu’s address reinforces the scheme’s ongoing efforts to instill positive values and prepare young Nigerians for impactful service to the nation.
