Ekiti 2026: Fayose Rejects ADC Governorship Primary Result, Heads to Court Over Alleged Irregularities

Governorship aspirant of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ekiti State, Otunba Emmanuel Fayose, has rejected the outcome of the party’s primary election held on November 6, describing it as a “charade marred by fraud, violence, and manipulation.”

Addressing journalists in Ado-Ekiti on Wednesday, Fayose alleged that the exercise was “grossly compromised,” citing falsified figures, intimidation of delegates, and widespread irregularities.

He accused the Senator Patricia Akwashiki-led Primary Election Committee of announcing results despite reports of violence and documented manipulations, claiming that his supporters were attacked while collation centers were taken over by agents of a “favoured aspirant.”

Fayose further alleged that the total votes declared exceeded the number of accredited delegates, describing it as “a mathematical impossibility that invalidates the entire process.”

“I reject the results announced by the ADC Primary Election Committee,” he said. “I won that primary election legally and with overwhelming grassroots support. No amount of manipulation or falsification will erase that truth. I am heading to court to challenge the irregularities and defend the mandate freely given to me by ADC members across Ekiti State.”
