Adamu Garba Backs Trump’s Genocide Claim, Urges U.S.–Nigeria Cooperation

APC chieftain Adamu Garba has supported U.S. President Donald Trump’s claim that genocide is taking place in Nigeria.

Speaking in an interview with Trust TV, Garba said the scale of killings across the country fits the definition of genocide, noting that both Christians and Muslims have been victims.

He recalled that in 2014, APC leaders visited the White House to seek help over the killing of Christians and urged the current government to engage the U.S. diplomatically instead of rejecting its concerns.

“What we should show is commitment and willingness to partner in eliminating terrorism, not condemn the helping hand,” he said.

Garba added that villages in Katsina, Sokoto, and Zamfara have suffered repeated attacks, describing the situation as “pure genocide.”
