Oyebanji Emerges APC Governorship Candidate for 2026 Ekiti Election

Governor Biodun Oyebanji has been confirmed as the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the 2026 Ekiti election after a consensus affirmation held Monday at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion, Ado-Ekiti.

The exercise, supervised by a committee led by Kogi State Governor Usman Ododo, saw 885 delegates endorse Oyebanji following the withdrawal of the only other aspirant, Mrs Atinuke Omolayo.

Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele moved the motion for Oyebanji’s ratification, which was seconded by Speaker Adeoye Stephen.

In his acceptance speech, Oyebanji thanked party leaders, delegates, and President Bola Tinubu, describing the consensus as “a mark of unity and maturity within the APC.”

He pledged to consolidate on his administration’s achievements and maintain peace ahead of the 2026 election.
