Yinka Ayefele’s Fresh FM Confirms Fire Outbreak at Headquarters Ibadan, August 16, 2025

The management of Fresh FM Nigeria has confirmed a fire outbreak that affected its head office at Challenge, Ibadan, on Friday night.

In a statement signed by the Group Head of Corporate Affairs for Fresh FM Nigeria and Yinka Ayefele Limited, Samson Akindele, the station disclosed that the fire outbreak destroyed key facilities, including the studios of Fresh 105.9 FM and Blast 98.3 FM.

The fire also spread to adjoining offices such as the newsroom, transmitter/server room, and other vital broadcasting equipment, leaving extensive damage behind.

According to the statement, initial attempts by staff to extinguish the flames with in-house fire extinguishers were unsuccessful due to the intensity of the blaze, until firefighters arrived.

“We cannot immediately quantify the extent of the damage caused by this devastating incident, and the cause is yet to be ascertained,” Akindele said.

The management expressed gratitude to residents, passersby, and officials of the Oyo State Fire Service who helped in containing the fire.

“We sincerely appreciate every good-spirited Nigerian who stood with us during the incident,” the station added.
