
The Oyo state Police Command has discovered a trafficking ring in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.
More the 80 people mostly young adults were rescued from a house around Orogun area of Ibadan where they have been kept for an undisclosed amount of time.
Unconfirmed report has it that the victims who are reportedly from the democratic Republic of Congo were lured to Nigeria under the guise of providing them jobs.
There are claims of extortion by perpetrators of the scheme where they allegedly scammed parents and relatives of their victims of lots of money paid to them in dollars.
A total of 83 people and a child were rescued by the police and currently at the Police Headquarters, Eleyele Ibadan where they’re being processed to get a clearer picture of what transpired.
